"The composition of the container

Container (CONTAINER), it refers to a certain strength, rigidity and specifications for the turnover of large-scale loading containers. There are many classifications of containers, and their uses are very different. Today we will talk about, we may not be too clear about the small details.

Containers are also known as cargo boxes or containers, is a standardised production in accordance with the specifications of the box freight equipment, can be used repeatedly, and has a certain strength, rigidity and integrity to facilitate the mechanical loading and unloading. Because the container can be easily transferred transport, so it greatly expanded its spread and use around the world.

The structure of the container is mainly divided into the following parts: the steel frame, constitute the box enclosure wavy side wall panels, the floor and its additional beams, open the door and its ancillary parts, as well as the loading and unloading components. The various components are welded to each other to form a complete and independent box structure.

Container number

The standard container number consists of an 11-digit code, including three parts.

The first part consists of 4 English letters. The first three codes mainly indicate the owner and operator of the box, and the fourth code indicates the type of container.

The second part consists of 6 digits. It is the box registration code, which is used for the unique identification of a container box holding.

The third part is the check code, which is obtained by the first 4 letters and 6 digits through the operation of the check rule, and is used to identify whether an error occurs during the check. That is, the 11th digit.

What are the common sizes and box types of containers?

20GP, 40GP and 40HQ are the three most commonly used containers

?What are the dimensions and volume of 45HQ?

Known:

Length = 45ft = 45*30.48cm = 13.716 metres

Width = 8ft = 8*30.48cm = 2.438 metres

Height = 9 feet 6 inches = 9.5 feet = 9.5*30.48cm = 2.89 metres

Finally it can be obtained:

Box volume of 45HQ = L*W*H = 13.716*2.438*2.89 ≈ 96CBM, which can actually hold about 85m3 of cargo.

Common containers and codes

(1) dry cargo container: box type code GP; 95 code 42G1, to ship grocery pieces, usually used to ship cultural goods, general merchandise, medicine, textiles, handicrafts, chemical products, hardware and electrical appliances, electronic appliances, instruments and machine parts, etc.

(2) Dry cargo high box: box type code GH (HC/HQ); 95 code 45G1.

(3) Hanging clothes box: box type code HT; 95 yards 42V1; suitable for shipping containers of clothing goods.

(4) open top box: box type code OT; 95 yards 42U1, this container does not have a box top, can be used to load and unload cargo from the crane from the top, the shipment with a tarpaulin cover the top of the watertight requirements and the same as the dry container. Suitable for loading volume height objects, such as glass panels.

(5) Freezer: box type code RF; 95 code 42R1, divided into two kinds of external and built-in. Temperature can be adjusted between -28 ℃ ~ +26 ℃, built-in containers in the transport process can be arbitrarily start the cold machine, so that the container to maintain the specified temperature, while the external type must rely on the container special vehicles, ships and special yards, stations equipped with freezers to refrigerate the refrigerator, the box is suitable for transporting butter, chocolate, frozen fish, condensed milk, margarine and other items in the summer.

(6) Cold high box: box type code RH; 95 code 45R1.

(7) tank box: box type code TK; 95 code 42T1, also known as liquid container, is for the transport of food, medicine, chemicals, and other liquid goods and special containers manufactured, its structure is in a metal frame fixed on a liquid tank.

(8) frame box: box type code FR; 95 code 42P1, there is no box top and sides, which is characterised by loading and unloading from the side of the container. To overweight goods as the main object of transport, but also to facilitate the loading of livestock, as well as such as steel and so on can be exempted from the outer packaging of the bare cargo.

What is LCL, FCL?

Less than Container Load (LCL):

Refers to a container with more than one owner of the goods, less than a full container of small quantities of goods is LCL cargo, according to the LCL (LCL - LCL) to operate.

Full container (Full Container Load):

Refers to a container with only one owner or manufacturer of goods, can be filled with one or more full container of larger quantities of goods is full container load, according to the full container load (FCL-FCL) to operate.

What do large container, small container and double back mean?

Large container generally refers to 40 feet container, usually refers to 40GP and 40HQ. 45 feet container is usually regarded as a special container.

A small container is a 20ft container, usually a 20GP.

Double back refers to two 20ft containers. For example, a trailer pulls two 20-foot small containers at the same time; when port lifting, two 20-foot containers are lifted to the ship at one time.

Lifespan of a container

Container life in the transport industry is generally ?10-15 years, out of the undamaged container box still has good physical properties, after rust and paint treatment can generally be used for another 15 years, if the maintenance of better, or with other structures such as concrete, can be more durable. Of course, the new container is better in both appearance and performance.

Container protection

Container material by its own physical properties of the metal structure, poor thermal insulation, indoor thermal environment is more unstable, need to set up another thermal insulation layer to effectively control the indoor thermal environment; In addition, the box is easy to corrosion, the need for containers inside and outside the rust paint to prevent corrosion. It should be noted that, international shipping in transit often in order to prevent the spread of pests and diseases, some countries produce container paint using chromate, phosphorus or lead paint, so for some of the boxes to be the original residual paint sanding off to be safe to use.
